Two CVU graduated seniors on Vermont Shrine team-
Published: Tuesday, July 5, 2016.
Two CVU Redhawk seniors will represent our school in the 63rd Shrine Maple Sugar Bowl Football Game this year:
Kienan Kittredge and Richard Lowrey III.
The Vermont team will be coached by Brian Grady of Fair Haven Union.
The Shrine game is played between two all-star teams of graduated seniors from Vermont and New Hampshire. The game is preceded by a spectacular parade of Shrine Units from throughout the Northeast Region. All net proceeds are donated to the three nearest Shrine Hospitals.
"Strong Legs Run That Weak Legs May Walk" is the motto of every Shrine Football Game and it can be seen every summer as 72 young men from New Hampshire and Vermont play their hearts out for the benefit of the children in the Shrine hospitals. And, when they step off the field at game's end, they become alumni and as such never forget the children they played for.
The 63rd Shrine Maple Sugar Bowl game will be held at Spartan Field at Castleton College in Castleton, VT on August 6, 2016.
Kick off at 5:30 pm. Click here for more information.
We are so proud of these two deserving players. There is nothing better than being recognized by your peers/opponents. Congratulations Kienan and Richard!
