The meeting started with a presentation from the architect firm that has designed the renovation and expansion of CVU.

  • DEW corporation has been hired as the construction manager
  • Bidding will occur for the project in January of 2004. Initial construction will begin in Feb/March 2004.
  • The construction will begin with the infill spaces and they will build their way out to connect to the existing structure.
  • The second phase will be the construction of the new Core facility
  • Most of the interior renovation will take place during the summers of 2004 and 2005.
  • Projected completion is August 2005
  • The new library and cafeteria is projected to be complete in the Fall 2004
  • Once certificates of occupancy are obtained for the new Core space, there may be some movement of current classes into that space as interior renovation to existing space begins.
  • DEW and the school board will keep community members up to date on the project through the school news through their websites.

Dessert with the principal will be held on Thursday, November 13.

Set up for the bus to Stowe is well underway with Mary Pellegrino in charge.

Fall concession – when the playoff game was postponed, there was no one signed up to run the concession stand. We might want to consider having a contingency plan in place in the future during the playoff season.

Options Beyond High School will take place on March 12.

We would really like to have a website – Mary Crane will ask Anna Penoyer about this.

Amy Berger contacted Val about the fiduciary aspects of the organization. Amy would like to define the parameters for the fiduciary aspects of the organization.

  • Who decides how much money we can give to clubs?
  • In Shelburne a committee set a limit on the total amount of money that was available and then reviewed requests and made decisions about grants.
  • There was some discussion about how the committee is organized and who is on it.
