Pretty cold.  Chores as usual. Brought over beets, carrots, turnips and cabbages and sqaushes and onions to bring and drew 2 loads of sand and banked  two sides of the house.  Drew 2 loads of wood and threw into parlor window. Did chores and went over to see Aunt Em and the rest.

Tied the horse to Henry’s hay mow while Henry Cole and I ate dinner.

Henry Thayer called in P.M. and we opened a bottle of beer. Pretty tired at night. Very windy every day.  Tues. was the only day that I could have gone to the Station this week, so far. Pulled a tooth for Dorothy Cole. Good grit.

Fri. Nov 2

Cold as ever. This the 4th day of N.W. and N. wind. Cold as blazes. Shifted since 6 P.M. & 8. And is now 9 P.M.  V. Light. Fine evening. Much warmer tonight.

Uncle Ruebe helped finish banking house. Henry gave me apples, I picked them up and got a bbl or more. Brought boxes in from barn.

Getting ready to go to Station in morning, if wind is easy.  Headache and very tired to-night. Worked hard all day!

Sat. Nov 3rd     Went to station.

At Station until                    .

Tuesday Nov. 18

Came ashore 3 30 P.M.  Stormy since Fri the 9th.

Found partridge- at Stone’s door, not yet cold shot by someone. So I took it over to Chet.

It made me late home.  It was sundown when half way over from Pt. to Station, but he was glad to have it.

Came home via Lake shore but most of them went to bed in the middle of the P.M.

Wed. Nov 14

Pretty fair. Did chores  sawed elm blocks. Fixed  steps. Wood and water. Henry Cole helped me put in 2  loads wood ect. At Aunt Em’s this evening, doughnuts and cheese and cider.

Frank Aky had lathing bee finished the lathing.

Thur. Nov 15

Sawed Elm blocks, did chores, cut up a lot of appletree wood and cleaned the woodyard.   Got feed cutter at Doctor Guise, gave $.50 for its use until spring.

Mended dipper at Henry’s shop. Aunt Em gave me a  piece of mighty good pie.  Henry threshing oats, came home via lake.  Henry C. came home with me, he went to bed and I have just finished piling 4 loads of stove wood.  Have no idea of the time of night, I think we are having  a big wind and snow. A terrible storm.

Fri Nov 16    Great Snow Storm.

Biggest snow storm ever. All last night and all day, 18-20 in. on level.  2 hrs going from home to Chet’s and entirely done up when I got there. Impossible to  follow road, for drifts. No mail and no road breaking.  Staying over night at Chet’s.

Sat Nov 17.

Shoveling paths, cutting feed and doing what I can that is but little.  Mail came an hour or two late.  No one breaking roads but Henry Thayer.  Rigged bob-sled for tomorrow.

Sun Nov 18

Looking like rain.  Went to the Point, fierce S. wind. Signaled.  Signals misunderstood.  Think Chet is sick.

Mon Nov 19

Fair and warm. Early start for station. Wind N.W light. Chet all right.  Had shot at three grebes and the partridge I gave him very fine no fault to find. Put in two loads of wood P.M.  Home via Cole’s.  Piling wood tonight.

Very hazy.  Afriad of snow.

Tues Nov 20

Finsihed putting in my wood and half a load at Henry’s. Dinner with Clara and Aunt Em.  Served chicken.  Made new crosspiece to Ex. Wagon. Awful tired and nearly sick with cough.  Burried vegatables in cellar tonight. Threatening storm all day.
